ABOUT US

Legacy Sports Foundation exists to empower youth through sports, mentorship, and opportunity. Every child deserves access to quality athletic training, personal growth, and academic support—regardless of income or background.

“We’re not just building teams. We’re building legacy.”

Our Story

When her first grandchild, Legacy, was born, Coach Danielle Washington-Weber felt a deeper calling. That name—Legacy—became a mission: to create access, opportunity, and belonging for every child with a dream.

Founded in 2025, the Foundation grew from ATWF Juniors Volleyball Club into a safe haven for youth athletes across Central Texas—where mentorship meets movement, and confidence grows from the inside out.

THE IMPACT OF SPORTS PARTICIPATION

Mental Health: Youth in team sports report 10-19% fewer mental health issues, with higher confidence, discipline, and stress management.

Academic Success: Student-athletes are 3x more likely to graduate, and score up to 40% higher on standardized tests.

Physical Wellness: Sports reduce obesity risk, improve heart health, and promote lifelong fitness habits.

Life Skills: Sports teach teamwork, leadership, empathy, and perseverance- skills youth carry into adulthood.

JOIN US IN EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION

Together, we can ensure that every child- regardless of income or background- has a chance to grow through the power of sports.

OUR COMMITMENT

Legacy Sports Foundation exists to close the opportunity gap by:

Hosting free or low- cost clinics and mentorship events.

Providing financial assistance for sports participation.

Guiding youth through college and career readiness, starting with confidence on the court.

NATIONAL GOAL

We align with the Healthy People 2030 initiative, which aims to raise youth sports participation to 63.3%--- a goal that could save the U.S. over $80 billion in health and productivity costs.

Why It Matters

  • 1 in 3 youth in our region can’t afford club sports

  • Sports + mentorship = confidence, school engagement, and life direction

  • Military families face unique challenges (relocation, stress, isolation)

Legacy is designed to bridge the gap — through access, mentorship, and legacy-building.

Evaluation & Impact

Legacy Sports Foundation will track:

  • Number of athletes served with aid

  • Attendance at mentorship/workshop events

  • Testimonials from families, coaches, and school partners

  • Youth retention and satisfaction surveys

Success is measured by the ability to increase access, improve confidence and school engagement, and connect more youth with pathways to higher education and personal growth.
